Most Anticipated February 2020 Releases

January is often considered the dump truck of movie releases where most of them are usually lower tier B-grade films or films that the studio themselves know that their projects aren’t gonna work. Case in point: “Dolittle”.

So, with January out of the way, it is time for the big leagues to play their cards and if done right, we might just get a surprise hit this month ala “Get Out”. While there are a couple of movies slated for release, we have picked our top most anticipated movies of the month of February.

  • “Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn”

Set after the events of the abysmal “Suicide Squad”, the only strongpoint of the movie, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), is back with her own team of badass women alongside the likes of other notable DC Comics characters namely Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Winstead), Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), and many more new ones we haven’t seen on screen. No sign of Jared Leto’s Joker this time though.

  • “Hustlers”

The only reason why I am interested on watching “Hustlers” is to find out why in God’s name is it called “The Wall Street Girls” here? But other than that, I am not gonna miss out on witnessing Jennifer “I should’ve gotten an Oscar nomination for this” Lopez’s career-turning performance since that gobble gobble scene in “Gigli” (I’m kidding!).

  • “The Gentlemen”

There was a time when Guy Ritchie made English gangster movies that immediately garnered a cult following. But instead on focusing on his strength and creating more of those, he went on to make average reimaginings of familiar properties. However, it looks like he is back on track with his latest offering of fast dialogues, clever but dark humour, and an all-star cast starring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, with Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant.

  • “Sonic the Hedgehog”

Remember when the first “Sonic the Hedgehog” trailer dropped last year and literally everyone who has seen it muttered the word WTF in unison? Lucky for us, Paramount Pictures noticed our disgust towards the design of the titular character and redid the whole thing, making Sonic look like what he is supposed to look like – without human teeth!
